Victor Marching Blue Devils 2010 Production is Axiomata Motus: The Principles of Motion

Victor Marching Blue Devils 2010The Victor Marching Blue Devils are proud to present their 2010 production; Axiomata Motus: The Principles of Motion featuring music by Richard Saucedo. This year’s program presents Newton’s Laws of Motion as taken from the Principia Mathematica.

Newton’s First Law: The Law of Inertia demonstrates how an object at rest stays at rest until it is influenced by an external force. Our opening production shows various principles of external forces moving objects at rest and changing the state of objects in continuous motion.

Newton’s Second Law: Force Equals Mass Times Acceleration shows the relationship between the forces applied and the proportional acceleration. This production explores different types of forces and how the acceleration of movement is proportional to that force.

Newton’s Third Law: To Every Action, There is an Equal and Opposite Reaction shows how forces are interactions between two or more bodies. Our closing production presents these principles with a musical and visual presentation of interacting forces culminating with an effective display of classical mechanics.

The Victor Marching Blue Devils are under the direction of Eric Everhart with Assistance from Mark Rider. The design team includes Mark Rider, Ted Mascari, Kirk Gay, Kelly-Moser Vogler, Mary Burke, Mike Heaney, and Lesley Rider. Instructional staff includes Shane Startzel, Patsy Vankirk, Jonathan Ytreberg, and Joe Taylor.

The Marching Blue Devils are celebrating their 29th season of involvement in the New York State Field Band Conference. The group’s storied and successful history includes winning 6 NYSFBC State Championships, a 2nd place finish last season in the National Class, and a 5th place finish at the USSBA National Championships in Annapolis, MD.
