Victor Marching Blue Devils End Season on High Note
at State and National Competitions!
Victor, NY- November 18, 2009 --The Victor Marching Blue Devils ended a successful 2009 season, placing second in New York State and fifth in national competitions with their performance of “The Spirit of St. Louis: A Transatlantic Journey.” The Victor program features music by Richard Saucedo and chronicled the historic and dramatic journey of Charles Lindbergh’s first Transatlantic flight in 1927.
The Marching Blue Devils, comprised of 108 students in grades 7 through 12, placed second out of 10 National Class bands at the New York State Field Band Conference Championships at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on November 1, 2009.
At the United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) Championships held in Annapolis Maryland on November 7, 2009, the Blue Devils, in their second year in the National Class, placed fifth out of 17 bands in their division. At the USSBA Championships, a total of 110 Bands competed in all divisions from 12 states.
The Victor Marching Blue Devils are a forward thinking organization that uses the pageantry arts as a vehicle to provide hundreds of students of the Victor Central School District with an environment that will promote the pursuit of personal excellence in artistic expression, physical achievement, and sportsmanship.
